The ceremony will begin at approximately 8:15 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>The event will culminate with the official pinning of the badge at 9<br \/>\na.m., exactly 100 years to the hour that the original Fort Worth Police<br \/>\nPanther Badge went into service on June 9, 1912.<\/p>\n<p>PUBLIC IS INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND: To prepare for the event,<br \/>\ntraffic will be diverted starting at midnight on Saturday morning. A<br \/>\nfuture advisory will detail traffic closures. Members of the public<br \/>\nattending the event will be allowed to bring lawn chairs. Special<br \/>\nseating will be set aside for VIPS and sponsors<\/p>\n<p>A drop off location for visitors who have special needs and the elderly<br \/>\nwill be established at Commerce Street and Weatherford Sts. Parking and<br \/>\nbus ride to the ceremony from the academy will be provided free of<br \/>\ncharge.<\/p>\n<p>WHO: Fort Worth Police Department<\/p>\n<p>WHAT: Pinning of the Centennial Panther Badge. A ceremony that<br \/>\nofficially puts the badge into service.<\/p>\n<p>WHEN: Saturday, June 9 at about 8:15 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>WHERE: Tarrant County Courthouse Steps, intersection of Main and<br \/>\nWeatherford Sts. in Downtown Fort Worth.<\/p>\n<p>WHY: To mark the 100th anniversary of the Police Department&#8217;s Panther<br \/>\nBadge. This special Centennial Panther Badge will honor the 100th year<br \/>\nof service for Fort Worth&#8217;s current police badge, which went into<br \/>\nservice on June 9, 1912.
