Two Men and a Truck mover wins gold in 2012 World Deaf Athletic Championship<\/strong><\/p>\n

Austinite Delvin Furlough, a mover for the Two Men and a Truck Austin North franchise won a gold medal for team USA by winning the 400 meter finals with a 48.97 at the 2012 World Deaf Athletic Championship held in Toronto, Canada July 14-22.<\/p>\n

This was the second gold medal won by the Austin resident, a former sprinter for Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas. Furlough also won the 400-meter race in the 2009 Deaflympics held in Taipei, Taiwan.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so proud of Delvin and his accomplishments,\u201d said Two Men and a Truck Austin North franchise owner Trent Thomas. \u201cHe is an exceptional athlete and an even better individual.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile Delvin has an extreme amount of determination, he also has such high character,\u201d Thomas said. \u201cIt is an absolute pleasure to have someone as kind and honorable as Delvin work with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nNorth franchise won a gold medal for team USA by winning the 400 meter

The Deaflympics, previously called the World Games for the Deaf, are an
\nInternational Olympic Committee (IOC)-sanctioned event at which deaf
\nathletes compete at an elite level. Unlike the athletes in other
\nIOC-sanctioned events (i.e., the Olympics, the Paralympics, and the
\nSpecial Olympics), the Deaflympians cannot be guided by sounds (i.e.,
\nthe starter’s guns, bullhorn commands or referee whistles.)<\/del><\/p>\n

The Deaflympics are held every four years and are the longest running
\nmulti-sport event excluding the Olympics themselves.<\/del><\/p>\n
