Hello all,<\/em><\/p>\n

With a heavy heart, I\u2019ve decided to resign from my position as<\/em>
\n Outreach\/Educator of the SafePlace \u2013 Deaf Services program to return<\/em>
\n back to my beloved UT for a certification program in Health IT. I want<\/em>
\n to take the time to say thank you so much for your support and it was a<\/em>
\n pleasure meeting all of you!! With that being said, Deaf Services<\/em>
\n Program is now seeking a fabulous person to take over my position and<\/em>
\n continue spreading awareness about Domestic Violence\/Sexual Assault!<\/em>

SafePlace: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survival Center is<\/strong>
\n recruiting for the following position:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Deaf Services Outreach\/Educator — $34,500yr (full time)<\/p>\n

The Deaf Services Outreach\/Educator outreaches to spread awareness in
\nthe Deaf community about SafePlace and domestic and sexual violence.
\nProvides training\/education on topics to the Deaf community related to
\nhealthy relationships and domestic\/sexual violence and training on Deaf
\nculture\/sensitivity to hearing professionals. Lead in managing social
\nmedia activities to engage the Deaf community. Key role in working
\nclosely with an instructional technology consultant and other staff in
\nbuilding an online training for ASL interpreters. Builds
\nrelationships\/partnerships with local Deaf community and plans public
\nawareness events related to domestic\/sexual violence. Staffs booths at
\nlocal Deaf events to promote information about SafePlace. Recruits and
\nsupervises volunteers. This position is expected to work
\ncollaboratively with the Deaf Services team and other hearing staff to
\nachieve program goals.<\/p>\n

Requirements: Bachelor\u2019s degree in adult education, social work,
\npsychology, sociology, women\u2019s studies or related field; requires
\nfluency in American Sign Language and life experience or extensive
\nknowledge of Deaf culture; experience in planning and conducting
\ntrainings\/presentations; knowledge of the dynamics of domestic and
\nsexual violence; excellent organizational skills and ability to manage
\nmultiple priorities effectively; strong writing skills a must; some
\nweekend and evening work required; reliable transportation necessary.
\nPosition is grant funded at least one year.<\/p>\n
