Further details at bottom of page.<\/p>\n<p>FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 7:00 &#8211; 9:00pm<\/p>\n<p>No More Nukes (5 min)<br \/>\nVictor Gallo, local musician, artist and filmmaker gives the audience<br \/>\npoetic lyrics, and visualization of commentary on nuclear weapons. The<br \/>\nfilmmaker, Victor Gallo will be on hand for Q&amp;A.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a Blind Chick Thing (20 min)<br \/>\nA 19 year old blind Italian Egyptian Muslim female comedian giggles her<br \/>\nway to the gig of a lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>Cooking with Brain Injury (10 min)<br \/>\nA short comedy that infuses humor into recollections of the daily<br \/>\nstruggles of life after traumatic brain injury. The events depicted are<br \/>\nall true. This is the first in a series of short comedic films intended<br \/>\nto encourage frank dialogue about brain injury. Featuring Cheryl Green,<br \/>\nMFA, MS and former Actual Lives Austin intern. Cheryl Green, the<br \/>\nfilmmaker will be on hand for Q&amp;A<\/p>\n<p>Rudely Interrupted (60 min)<br \/>\nRudely Interrupted is a one hour documentary following this band&#8217;s<br \/>\njourney from the pub stages of Melbourne all the way to the UN in New<br \/>\nYork and their European tour beyond. As well as the usual challenges<br \/>\nevery band faces while on the road, this documentary delves into the<br \/>\nlives of each of its members. Their disabilities though obviously a<br \/>\npart of the story take a backseat to coverage of the tour, and the<br \/>\ndynamics of this unique group of people.<\/p>\n<p>SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 10:00am &#8211; 12:00pm<\/p>\n<p>The Great Mouse Tales (12 min)<br \/>\nThe Great Little Mouse is an animated story written by Mary Egan, a<br \/>\nwoman with developmental disabilities. It is the story of Reggie, a<br \/>\nnaughty, flying mouse, who helps bring people together. The narrator<br \/>\nand all the voices of the characters are performed by people with<br \/>\ndevelopmental disabilities. Sprout make-a-movie Production<\/p>\n<p>Anything You Can Do (7 \u00bd min)<br \/>\nTwo boys face off in a back room. The competition is fierce. Faces are<br \/>\npulled, grapes are thrown and burps are unleashed. But when the stakes<br \/>\nare at their highest will victory be sweet?<\/p>\n<p>Titanic (11 min)<br \/>\nA collaborative New Media Arts film project done by Crockett HS<br \/>\nstudents. A film of the doomed maiden voyage of the Titanic.<\/p>\n<p>Jowls (10 min)<br \/>\nWhat do Sharks, a threatened town and sandwiches have in common? A<br \/>\ncollaborative film by filmmaker, Andrew Grimes and Arc of the Arts.<\/p>\n<p>Flying Anne (21 min)<br \/>\nEleven-year-old Anne wavers between being bossy and shy, daring and<br \/>\nintroverted, accomplished and frustrated. A typical tween, she fights<br \/>\nwith her sisters and courts a young admirer. Atypically, she<br \/>\ncompulsively twirls and licks objects. Flying Anne is a<br \/>\nthree-dimensional portrait of a girl with Tourette&#8217;s looking for love,<br \/>\nacceptance and understanding, just like the rest of us.<\/p>\n<p>The Greatest Show On Earth (24 min)<br \/>\nPulses like a Latin drumbeat as it follows Nana, a charismatic young<br \/>\ndeaf woman as she chases her samba dancing dream from London to Rio&#8217;s<br \/>\nfamed Carnival. Nana&#8217;s journey is all about life&#8217;s possibilities, and<br \/>\nthis high-octane documentary shows what can happen when hard work and<br \/>\nbig dreams are combined.<\/p>\n<p>SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2:00 &#8211; 4:30pm<\/p>\n<p>Friending with Brain Injury (12 min)<br \/>\nIn the vein of &#8220;The Dating Game&#8221; of the 1960s, this film takes a<br \/>\nbitingly humorous look at social isolation after brain injury. The Host<br \/>\nworks tirelessly to get the players with brain injuries to behave just<br \/>\nas she wants them to and to follow her rules. The contestants and guest<br \/>\nstar find their own way to forming an alliance as they uncover the<br \/>\nexperiences they share with each other that the Host refuses to respect<br \/>\nor understand. Cheryl Green, the filmmaker will be on hand for Q&amp;A.<\/p>\n<p>The Eighth Day (Le Huitieme Jour) (112 min)<br \/>\nThe 1996 feature-length Belgian film tells the story of a chance<br \/>\nfriendship that develops between a divorced business man and a young<br \/>\nman with Down&#8217;s syndrome. WARNING: The ending may be disturbing to<br \/>\nsome.<\/p>\n<p>SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 7- 9:00pm<\/p>\n<p>Zut- Alors, animation (10 min)<br \/>\nA humorous adventure of what One can do, Two can do better. Jeann<br \/>\nStern, the filmmaker will be on hand for a Q&amp;A<\/p>\n<p>Face of Our Fear (51 min)<br \/>\nStephen Dwoskin, was a highly experimental filmmaker who used<br \/>\ncontemporary film clips, literary quotations, performance, and<br \/>\npictorial records in Face Of Our Fear looking at the infatuation with<br \/>\n&#8220;monsters&#8221; during the Middle Ages, the &#8220;charity cripples&#8221; of the<br \/>\nEnlightenment, the freak shows of the nineteenth century, each a resort<br \/>\nto oppressive stigmatization.<\/p>\n<p>Scarlet Road (70 min)<br \/>\nAustralian sex worker Rachel Wotton works with many clients with<br \/>\ndisability. Scarlet Road follows Rachel&#8217;s special connection with two<br \/>\nremarkable men. John was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 26 years<br \/>\nago, and Mark was born with cerebral palsy. Mark&#8217;s parents, Elaine and<br \/>\nSpag, also meet with Rachel to help make their son&#8217;s long time dream<br \/>\ncome true. This unique film gives voice to John and Mark as they<br \/>\ngenerously share moments of sexual self-discovery. WARNING: This is not<br \/>\nfor children.<\/p>\n<p>***Attention!
