My aunt, Myrtle Hornsby Callan, died Wednesday morning at age 105. You recently wrote her and sent the Honorary Life Membership for the TSDAA. There is a family visitation tomorrow at Weed Corley Fish on Lamar just south of 34th street. The funeral is at Genesis Presbyterian church at 2:30 on Sunday. Can you get word to the TSD so that anyone interested can attend. Burial is at Hornsby Family Cemetery out Weberville Road.<\/p>\n
The obituary was in today’s paper. It can be accessed on line at wcfish.com and gives a thorough rendition of her life–she taught and was principal at TSD for 30 years.<\/p>\n
On her 100th birthday, some students and faculty from TSD came to her home and gave her a birthday party–the quietest party I ever attended. It was wonderful to see them sign to her and for her to respond in kind. It was a greatly appreciated occasion.<\/p>\n
