TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF HOMECOMING: “FEEL THE POWER”<\/strong><\/p>\n

SPIRIT WEEK KICKS OFF HOMECOMING FESTIVITIES
\nPRE-GAME HYPE BUILDS, KICKING OFF SCHOOL\u2019S OLDEST, BIGGEST TRADITION<\/p>\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 September 17, 2012 Homecoming at the Texas School for
\nthe Deaf (TSD) is still the most cherished tradition celebrated at the
\n150+ year-old school – home of the TSD Rangers \u2013 with more than 1,500
\nexpected to attend the weekend festivities.<\/p>\n

TSD\u2019s Spirit Week, Monday-Friday, excites the campus with students and
\nstaff donning the appropriate spirit attire each day for themed
\nactivities and wacky student competitions. During TSD\u2019s annual Blue and
\nWhite Pep Pally Friday at 1:00 p.m., the coveted TSD Spirit Award will
\nbe presented to the most spirited class.<\/p>\n

Rooted in long-standing tradition, each year students, families,
\nfriends and alumni converge on TSD\u2019s South Austin campus mall to
\ncelebrate together at the Homecoming Festival Saturday prior to the
\ngame with food booths, games and a variety of vendors.<\/p>\n

The TSD Rangers meet the Cubs from the California School for the
\nDeaf-Riverside (CSD-R) on the gridiron, Saturday, September 22 at 5:00
\np.m., where TSD\u2019s 2012-2013 Homecoming court will be crowned during
\nhalf time.<\/p>\n

Competition starts early in the day Saturday with TSD Junior Varsity
\nand Varsity Volleyball games at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. against
\nBrentwood Christian.<\/p>\n
