2012 Texas Honey Queen ASL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ever wonder why bees are so important to our daily lives? Interested in learning how honey is made? Want to be a beekeeper? Sign up for a free ASL beekeeping presentation!<\/p>\n

My name is Caroline Adams and I an ASL III student at Collin College in the Interpreter Preparation Program for the Deaf. I am also currently serving the Texas Beekeeping Industry as the 2012 Texas Honey Queen. As Honey Queen, I travel across the state visiting schools, civic organizations, clubs, and special-interest groups and give educational presentations about the importance of honey bees, beekeeping, and pollination.<\/p>\n

I am available to provide presentations in ASL to Deaf groups across the state, free of charge. These are basic presentations about honeybees in general, pollination, what beekeepers actually do, how honey is made and collected, and the products that are collected from the beehive. The presentations include visual aids as well as supplies that can be felt, tasted, etc. The presentations generally last between 30-45 minutes and include time at the end for questions and answers.<\/p>\n
