Please read the following note from DeafACT’s next Director of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: <\/p>\n
Hello! <\/p>\n
My name is Meme Kerr, and I have been chosen as Director for the play, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which we will showcase the first weekend of November. Hailing from the world of dance and performance, it will be such a pleasure for me to work with children. After my involvement with the Peter Pan production last spring, I decided to become more involved. I look forward to turning out another spectacular show. <\/p>\n
DeafACT extends an invitation to deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing children of deaf or hard of hearing parent(s), to audition for roles in the play. Those who wish to audition for the The Legend of Sleepy Hollow must be at least 8 years old and no older than 15. <\/p>\n
Auditions will be held on August 27th and 28th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Texas Union Theater on The University of Texas at Austin campus. Please go to http:\/\/www.deafact.org\/shows.html for more details. <\/p>\n
1. Each participant is to tell his\/her most scary experience in American Sign Language (ASL). The time limit is 2 minutes. <\/p>\n
2. Each participant will be then asked to recite some lines. The participants will be given some time to practice and memorize the lines before their turn. <\/p>\n
Casting decisions will be made within 24 hours following the last day of auditions. Those who are offered roles will receive an email and then have 24 hours to accept or reject their roles. The final announcement will be posted on www.deafact.org within 48 hours after auditions are closed. <\/p>\n
