He was born on September 24, 1943, in Houston, Texas to parents Freddie Lee and LaRue (Childers) Clifton. Fred attended the Texas School for the Deaf, graduating in 1963. He attended Lee College, earning his Associates Degree in Technology and majoring in Electronics on May 21, 1971. Fred was a senior audio\/electrical technician and developed communication equipment for the NASA space program.  <\/p>\n<p>Fred was a hard-working man, a devoted father, and a loyal friend. He was preceded in death by parents Freddie Lee and LaRue (Childers) Clifton, sister Betty Dean and many aunt and uncles. He is survived by his sons, Paul Clifton (wife Lea) and Peter Clifton (wife Celina); his brothers Mike Clifton (wife Cynthia) and Jack Clifton; his grandchildren Lauren Clifton, Catherine Clifton and Avery Clifton; his nieces and nephews Jacqueline Clifton, Samuel Clifton, Diana Creighton (husband Greg), Kristy Dean, and Jennifer Bell (husband Wayne); his great nieces and nephews Sharon Creighton, Brynne Clifton, Brooke Clifton and Thaddeus Bell.
