A renowned storyteller, she has performed on The Moth, Upright Citizen’s Brigade (UCB) Theatre, and Gotham Comedy Club, and at festivals including The Texas Book Festival, Wordstock Book Festival and South by Southwest (SXSW). She also has given keynote speeches at schools and universities including Oregon and Texas, and at DeafHope, a nonprofit dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence against deaf women and children.

Crews’s memoir has received praise from Publishers Weekly, Booklist, Glamour and ELLE magazines, and Library Journal, whose review states, “While there’s plenty of memoir fodder in the hearing-child-of-two-deaf-parents subject, Crews’s story has heartbreaking depth and complexity. With insight into her father’s feelings about deafness, his über-Christian family’s response to his violence against the women in his life, and the culture of the deaf community, this is a rich read.”

For photos, videos and more, visit http://www.kambricrews.com.

THU, NOV 1 at 7PM

Book Woman Bookstore
5501 North Lamar #A-105
Austin, TX 78751
http://www.ebookwoman.com

The event is FREE and ASL interpretation will be provided.
