They interact with customers, they communicate with their co-workers all the while they are completely deaf.<\/p>\n<p>Shopping carts, conversations, and cash registers are simple sounds many take for granted at the grocery store.<\/p>\n<p>But for Jeffrey Williams and his wife Stephanie, these sounds are nonexistent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen they are not able to hear people they have to pay closer attention,\u201d said the couples&#8217; manager Bob Murphy says that doesn\u2019t stop them from doing what they love: helping the customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith one less sense to draw upon,\u201d he said, \u201cThey make up for it in other ways like with the big hearts they have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie says it can get frustrating when customers are impatient and don&#8217;t understand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt hurts,\u201d she said, \u201cI want to cry, but I tell myself that I can still serve them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So to let the customers know they can help them no matter what&#8230;Stephanie made T-shirts to explain it says:<\/p>\n<p>I am deaf and I would love to help I have a pen and pad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFind a solution and keep going,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The couple says they&#8217;ve quit their prior jobs because they were unhappy, but their HEB family is supportive.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff says they finally found their calling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNever give up,\u201d he said, \u201cKeep going and keep your head up and try, try, try.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They say there is one fulfilling word that is always understood:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SOURCE:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbs7kosa.com\/news\/details.asp?ID=38435\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.cbs7kosa.com\/news\/details.asp?ID=38435<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deaf Couple Overcomes Challenges at HEB Midland, TX &#8211; Jeffrey and Stephanie Williams work at the HEB in Midland.
