At 12 noon Thursday (8\/24\/06) at the FEDERAL COURTHOUSE SAN ANTONIO we will meet to support Maria Salinas, deaf and lives in New Braunfels, and her lawyers as they file suit against New Braunfels for failing to communicate with Maria when she was unable to waken her boyfriend and called police for help. <\/p>\n

The boyfriend died and Maria for hours was unable to communicate with the police and emergency personnel about what was happening. <\/p>\n

This case is important because access to emergency services is a MUST in this day and age. <\/p>\n

Emergency readiness in a post-911 world starts with communication and respect for all – including deaf. <\/p>\n
