Summer Internship Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are offering internship positions for six deaf or hard-of-hearing undergraduate science majors for summer 2013. This internship will begin May 28, 2013 and end August 2, 2013. We will begin accepting applications on February 1 and continue until positions are filled.<\/p>\n

Three internship positions will be with the Genetics of Connexin 26 Deafness project, led by Dr. Derek Braun. This project combines molecular genetics, bioinformatics, and biological (physical) anthropology.<\/p>\n

Three internship positions will be to study the ecological health of the Anacostia River, a tributary that is part of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem at Gallaudet University, led by Dr. Caroline Solomon.<\/p>\n

This marks our fifth year of offering summer internships. Since 2008, we have trained eleven deaf or hard-of-hearing interns.<\/p>\n
