Hearing Impaired Man Arrested Following Standoff with Police<\/strong><\/p>\n

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) – A 37-year old Corpus Christi man who is hearing impaired is now in the City Detention Center after investigators say he made terroristic threats.<\/p>\n

His arrest came after a standoff with police Wednesday on Holmes, near McArdle.<\/p>\n

Officers were called out to a home on Holmes just before 5 p.m. Wednesday to investigate an assault. Investigators said they were talking with 37-year old William Bryant outside before he ran inside to grab a gun.<\/p>\n

A Tazer was used to stop the hearing impaired man.<\/p>\n

After being handcuffed, Bryant slammed his head on the police cruiser. That was when officers wrestled him to the ground, where two of them sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The Corpus Christi Police Department said those officers are expected to make a full recovery.<\/p>\n
