This poignant story covers a 30 year life span between two characters, Doug and Kayleen.

Performing in American Sign Language, with captioning for hearing patrons, the show touches on the fragility of friendship and their intersection of injuries which symbolizes the pain of love and commitment. “We’re an inclusion theater, and bringing in the Deaf community with this show in American Sign Language is really an honor” says Nowinski, founder of Dionysus Theater. “This show, so beautifully written, takes us through the lives of Doug and Kayleen. ASL truly captures its essence and takes it to another level of understanding” says Nowinski. “There are some friendships that can injure the psyche, but you still continue to love. Doug Hart (Doug) and Holly Krone-Clemente (Kayleen) bring amazing physicality along with ASL to this show; everyone will be touched by the message. This show in ASL supports our mission of inclusion and brings thought-provoking, unique theater to Houston.”

Oleg Golovushkin is directing “Gruesome Playground Injuries”. Born in Russia, Golovushkin received his MFA in Film and Photography from St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.
