Coming to Seven More Cities this Fall! <\/p>\n
SILVER SPRING, MD \u0013 Bernard Bragg, an accomplished actor, director,
\nplaywright, lecturer and founder of the acclaimed National Theatre of
\nthe Deaf continues his multi-city, one man show, “Theatre in the Sky”,
\nin seven cities this fall. <\/p>\n
“‘Theatre in the Sky’ is designed to be a humorous, sometimes
\nridiculous, but always heart-warming look back on my experiences of
\ntraveling the world,\u001d said Bragg. Earlier performances were held in
\nAustin, TX, Northridge, CA; St. Paul, MN; Boston, MA; Seattle, WA and
\nNew York City, NY. All proceeds from the show are donated to the
\nNational Association of the Deaf (NAD) and the World Federation of
\nthe Deaf (WFD). <\/p>\n
“The increasingly urgent need for private citizen support in
\ncombating deprivation of Deaf people\u0019s communication rights around
\nthe country and world is a prime reason I decided to do this show,”
\nsaid Bragg. “The proceeds will help NAD and WFD efforts to bring
\nabout change in education, employment, health care and social
\nattitudes toward health care and social attitudes towards deafness,
\nespecially in developing countries.” <\/p>\n
NAD President Bobbie Beth Scoggins, accompanied by Bragg, formally
\npresented a check for $25,000 to WFD President Markku Jokinen during
\nthe closing ceremonies of the World Congress of the WFD held July
\n2007 in Madrid, Spain. <\/p>\n
Upcoming \u001cTheatre in the Sky\u001d performances are scheduled for St.
\nAugustine and Boca Raton, FL-September 7 and 8; Tucson, AZ\u0013September
\n15; Riverside, CA-September 22-23; Washington, DC-September 28;
\nRochester, NY-October 6; and Philadelphia, PA-October 19. Please
