The new system named Accessible Hazard Alert System (AHAS) is designed to send warning messages to Fort Worth residents with functional needs such as Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind or Deaf\/Blind that may not be able to detect the outdoor warning sirens, The AHAS warnings in American Sign Language, English verbal and captioned text will be broadcast to video capable mobile devices such as iPads and smart cell phones, home and office Internet emails, and wireless Braille readers.
