The training prepares you to provide information and emotional support to another parent new to a diagnosis or new to an issue involving their child. <\/p>\n
We will discuss: The stages of grief that most parents experience Listening and communication skills Local, state and national resources Care for the caregiver <\/p>\n
You will also learn what TxP2P expects of their volunteers. Then you will tell us how you want to help. Because we need your help! We have a lot of parents that have requested a Supporting Parent match and need more trained volunteers. <\/p>\n

Do you need childcare? If so, how many kids will you bring? Please tell me their names, ages, dietary needs, and any special accommodations we need to let the child care workers know about. <\/p>\n
Texas Parent to Parent is always looking for caring and capable adults to provide child care during our trainings. If you have someone in mind who you think would be interested in working for the day please let us know. <\/p>\n
After we hear from those of you who can attend, we will send out information and directions. <\/p>\n
