Jesse is an MFA candidate in design at UT, a decades<\/span>-long fan of obscure religious music, and an indiscriminate bastardizer<\/span> of any and all theory. Be warned, metal-nerds!<\/p>\n

“Cymbals: Their history and mystery,” by Matt Herman<\/p>\n

Cymbals have an extremely rich history extending from the Bronze Age, through Alchemy, warfare tactics, feuding families, up to the music of today. Much will be revealed about these shimmering metallic discs. A live demonstration will conclude the talk.<\/p>\n

Matt likes to mix up music with math, and math with music. He went on a pilgrimage to Istanbul to search for cymbals in 1999, and is on an endless quest for that perfect ride-crash.<\/p>\n
