Bryan A local business has been honored by a state organization for its commitment to employing a Bryan resident who is deaf and blind.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Cassens the owner of Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics in Bryan received an award Wednesday from the Texas Interagency Task Force on Deafblindness.<\/p>\n

For the last 10 years Cassens has employed Christopher Palasota who is deaf, blind and a kidney transplant survivor.<\/p>\n

Christopher and his mom, who’s his sponsor, work everyday cleaning the business, organizing, and even buying supplies.<\/p>\n

“We had a dream about his future. We thought maybe he’ll have friends and activities and maybe a job and a place to live and it seems like a lot of his dreams have come true,” Christopher’s mom Sheryl Palasota said.<\/p>\n

The Texas Interagency Task Force on Deafblindness was created in 1979 to encourage quality services to Texans who are deaf and blind.<\/p>\n
