\n0.2 RID & BEI CEUs approved<\/p>\n

TSID is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for 0.2 CEUs at the \u201cSome Content Knowledge Level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Interpreters will be provided. This event is FREE and open to the public!<\/p>\n

Are you curious about Deaf education and teacher training in Africa? Their cultures, their languages, their day-to-day lives? Dr. Victor Vodounou, professor of Deaf education\/ASL and missionary to the Deaf will give a presentation about his recent visits and future work with the Deaf in Africa.<\/p>\n

Attendees will be able to sample some native dishes, view examples of clothing, and watch dances of West and South Africa. They will also be given information on how Americans and others can assist Deaf Africans in improving their education and quality of life.
\n-5:00-6:20 pm Visit various booths and exhibits to experience and learn more about African culture
\n-6:30-8:30 pm Workshop \/presentation by Dr. Victor Vodounou of Deaf African Life & Education (0.2 RID CEUs)
\nDr. Vodounou<\/span> will be signing copies of his autobiography after the presentation.<\/p>\n

Victor and his wife Benoite Vodounou were born in Benin, West Africa, where they grew up. They are of the Fon tribe of Central Benin. They have been naturalized United States citizens since 2001, but have always wanted to carry the Gospel to the people of Africa.<\/p>\n

Victor is deaf<\/span>, he was saved through a ministry of the Christian Mission for the Deaf in Nigeria in 1974 and he was baptized by immersion in water by missionary Andrew Foster in 1977. Benoite<\/span> is hearing and also saved. She is fluent in English and French as well as American and French Sign Language.
\nVictor attended Africa Bible College for the Deaf in Ibadan, Nigeria and the Bible Institute of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. In addition he holds a BS, MS and a Ph.D. in<\/span> Bilingual Special Education.<\/p>\n
