{"id":2392,"date":"2007-10-18T16:43:52","date_gmt":"2007-10-18T21:43:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2007\/10\/18\/vacancy-posting-senior-citizen-center-manager\/"},"modified":"2007-10-20T02:36:11","modified_gmt":"2007-10-20T07:36:11","slug":"vacancy-posting-senior-citizen-center-manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2007\/10\/18\/vacancy-posting-senior-citizen-center-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Vacancy Posting  Senior Citizen Center Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>VACANCY NOTICE <\/p>\n<p>Deaf Action Center SENIOR PROGRAM CENTER Manager, Dallas TX Position Summary: <\/p>\n<p>Plans, organizes, and supervises all phases of the Senior Citizens nutrition, education, transportation, outreach, intake and volunteer programs at Deaf Action Senior Center facility. <\/p>\n<p>Major Duties: <\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Plans, organizes, supervises and directs all phases of the Senior Citizens recreation, nutrition, education, transportation, outreach and volunteer services, as implemented at the senior center facility.<br \/>\n&#8212; Develops, evaluates and implements special events\/programs activities, outreach, presentations, field trips, etc.<br \/>\n&#8212; Completes client intake forms and makes referrals; provides information\/resources to senior citizens.<br \/>\n&#8212; Responsible for the noon meal program, weekly reports and overseeing the volunteers within the program.<br \/>\n&#8212; Assesses senior clients&#8217; individual situations and takes appropriate action, as needed.<br \/>\n&#8212; Coordinates with the Site Council to produce printed monthly activity calendar and informational and educational materials for distribution to seniors and public. <\/p>\n<p>Job Requirements: <\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Proficient sign language skills<br \/>\n&#8211;General knowledge of the Older Americans Act, gerontology, program development and intergenerational programming.<br \/>\n&#8211;Knowledge of social services, senior benefits and client relations.<br \/>\n&#8211;Ability to organize, and manage activities for the senior citizen center with multiple activities and services.<br \/>\n&#8211;Ability to supervise and direct the work of assigned personnel\/volunteers and to conduct training programs.<br \/>\n&#8211;Ability to obtain a CPR Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate within six months of date of hire and maintain throughout employment.<br \/>\n&#8212; Ability to maintain records, both manually and by automated methods and prepare accurate reports, correspondence, memoranda, etc.<br \/>\n&#8211;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, outside agencies and the general public. <\/p>\n<p>Please forward cover letter and resume to sdibirdirdik@deafactioncentertexas.org or fax (214) 521-0407, mailing &#8212; address: 3115 Crestview Dr. Dallas TX 75235 <\/p>\n<p>Susan Dibirdik<br \/>\nDeaf Action Center<br \/>\n3115 Crestview Drive<br \/>\nDallas, Texas 75235<br \/>\n214.521.0407 voice\/tdd<br \/>\n214.521.3658 (Fax)<br \/>\nsdibirdik@deafactioncentertexas.org <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VACANCY NOTICE Deaf Action Center SENIOR PROGRAM CENTER Manager, Dallas TX Position Summary: Plans, organizes, and supervises all phases of the Senior Citizens nutrition, education, transportation, outreach, intake and volunteer programs at Deaf Action Senior Center facility.
