\n\tListen up!   Here are questions for you all.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t1) What employers are covered by Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and when is the coverage effective?
\n\t2) Can an employer require medical examinations or ask questions about a disability (deaf or hard of hearing)?
\n\t3) Who is a qualified individual with a disability (deaf or hard of hearing)?
\n\t4) When is an employer required to make a reasonable accommodation (i.e., an interpreter or communication access realtime translation (CART))?\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIf you are not sure or don’t know at least one answer for any of the above questions, come to our training to find out and to have fun learning.  The training would increase your knowledge of your rights and to empower you to self-advocate as an employee, who is deaf or hard of hearing.  The training of your choice is scheduled and located at:\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Speaker:<\/strong>
\n\tBrian Determan, an ASL-user deaf individual, serves as the Deafness Resource Specialist 7A, through Communication Axess Ability Group, for a program funded by Texas DARS (Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services) – Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. He works with various agencies and service providers regarding their access obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act.  His training will empower deaf or hard of hearing individuals with knowledge of their civil rights and how to self-advocate.
