\n\tJob Description Under direct supervision of interpreter coordinator, performs a variety of routine clerical, reception, and office support functions; performs other related duties as required.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t* Recordkeeping
\n\t* Responsible for maintaining office filing and recordkeeping systems;
\n\t* enters, edits, and retrieves data;
\n\t* oversees billing function of department by calculating charges and sending\/following up on bills,
\n\t* processes forms such as expenditure claims, employee time sheets, interpreter vouchers;
\n\t* maintains records, confidential files and other related information for interpreting department needs.
\n\t* Communication\/Customer Service
\n\t* Answers and routes telephone calls
\n\t* conveys information orally, in sign language and in writing;
\n\t* answers inquiries from businesses, clients, and staff, regarding departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
\n\t* directs clients to appropriate resources;
\n\t* schedules and coordinates interpreter assignments;
\n\t* provides materials, and initiates requests for information when required.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJOB REQUIREMENTS\/QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t* Operate standard office equipment.
\n\t* Ability to collaborate with a variety of individuals across the organization;
\n\t* Highly refined interpersonal, conflict resolution, problem solving, writing and verbal communication skills.
\n\t* Accurately type and learn to efficiently use various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite; communicate effectively in oral and written form;
\n\t* Follow instructions;
\n\t* Organize and prioritize work;
\n\t* Perform basic research and report results;
\n\t* Read and apply rules, regulations, and procedures;
\n\t* Learn and follow standard office procedures;
\n\t* Learn appropriate filing and recordkeeping systems;
\n\t* Work cooperatively and effectively with staff, clients and businesses, and the deaf\/and hard of hearing community, and the general public.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBackground<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t* Completion of an Interpreter Training Program and\/or Executive Assistant program preferred.
\n\t* Any combination of training and\/or experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties as described;
\n\t* a typical qualifying background would include experience working in an office environment involving public contact.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPreferred qualifications:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t* Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language and other sign systems.\n<\/p>\n
