TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF RANGERS ON FIRE; HEADED TO PLAY-OFFS <\/p>\n
Austin, Texas \u0013 November 8, 2007 The Texas School for the Deaf (TSD)
\ntakes home-field advantage for the final district football game of
\nthe season tonight at Rudolph Gamblin Field in South Austin at 7:30
\np.m. <\/p>\n
The TSD Rangers (8-2) meet the San Marcos Baptist Academy (4-5) in
\nTAPPS Division III District 3, and are planning on a win. Although
\nTSD\u0019s winning season has secured the team a playoff spot, Chris
\nHamilton, TSD\u0019s Athletic Director says, \u001ctonight\u0019s game is very
\nimportant and a win is needed going in against District 4 next week.\u001d
\nTSD will face Division III District 4\u0019s second-ranked team, from the
\nHouston\/Galveston area, in the playoffs if they prevail over San
\nMarcos tonight. A loss would mean TSD meets the district\u0019s number one
\nteam in the first round of the playoffs next week. Hamilton adds, \u001cThe
\nteam is eager and enthusiastic, and focused on a win tonight. We\u0019re
\nvery confident.\u001d <\/p>\n
TSD will also recognize its twelve senior players tonight, and will
\nintroduce them at the start of the game. Following tonight\u0019s game,
\nthe Sangre del Sol Fire Troupe will give a spectacular volunteer
\nperformance. The performance group was just named in the Austin
\nChronicle’s “Best of Austin 20073 list. Tonight\u0019s performance will
\ninclude original fire props, stunning and extraordinary costumes,
\ndrummers and musicians. <\/p>\n
