TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF HONORS VETERANS <\/p>\n
Austin, Texas – November 8, 2007- The Texas School for the Deaf’s
\n(TSD) Elementary School students invite veterans and all members of
\nthe U.S. military for a special ceremony in their honor today at 9:00
\na.m. at the TSD Gymnasium in South Austin. <\/p>\n
The program begins with the Sons of American Revolution, Patrick
\nHenry Chapter Color Guards’ processional, followed by the Pledge of
\nAllegiance and National Anthem, including signed participation by TSD
\nstudents. Color Guard soldiers will be suited in revolutionary-time
\nperiod uniforms and flags will be distributed to participants,
\ncompliments of the Austin Exchange Club. <\/p>\n
Guest speaker and Iraq war veteran First Sergeant Rick Grooms will
\naddress the crowd with a brief speech honoring military veterans and
\nthose currently serving. Students have designed a mural display
\ncontaining photographs of friends and loved ones who have served or
\nare currently serving in the United States military. There will be
\nopportunities for photos after the close of the ceremony. Military
\npersonnel are the distinguished guests at this ceremony and the
\npublic is invited to join in sharing appreciation for their brave and
\ncourageous efforts. <\/p>\n
