{"id":25627,"date":"2013-12-19T13:58:14","date_gmt":"2013-12-19T19:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=25627"},"modified":"2013-12-19T13:58:14","modified_gmt":"2013-12-19T19:58:14","slug":"dsat-ii-training-january-18-19-2014-by-dars-beaumont","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2013\/12\/19\/dsat-ii-training-january-18-19-2014-by-dars-beaumont\/","title":{"rendered":"DSAT II Training January 18-19, 2014 by DARS &#8211; Beaumont"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<strong>DSAT II Promo Beaumont Januar 18-19, 2014<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNational Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tParticipants will gain a stronger understanding of how to advocate for themselves, develop higher self esteem, understand the interpreter&rsquo;s role, and how to advocate for communication access services.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTarget Audience The target audience includes individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and use sign language to communicate and are:<br \/>\n\t* Vocational rehabilitation clients; or<br \/>\n\t* High School transition age students; or<br \/>\n\t* Adult basic education students; or<br \/>\n\t* Other individuals wanting to learn advocacy strategies for communication access in a variety of settings.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTraining Date &amp; City\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tJanuary 18-19, 2014&ndash; Beaumont, Texas\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThis is a 2 day training, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. each day. The training is limited to 15 participants.<br \/>\n\tTraining site: The training location will be provided after registration is received.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTo Register\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAdvanced registration is required. This training is free and limited to 15 participants who use sign language to communicate. To register by email send 1) your name, 2) mailing address, 3) phone number, and 4) email address, 5) type &ldquo;DSAT Beaumont&rdquo; in the subject line, to ann.horn@dars.state.tx.us no later than January 12. The project team consists of the National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers (NCIEC), Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD), and T.S. Writing Services, in collaboration with Digiterp Communications and D.E.West Studios.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers are funded from 2010-2015 by the U.S. Department of Education Rehabilitation Services Administration.
