The set of competencies resulting from this project—which are referred to as the Entry-to-Practice competencies—were developed over time by a collaborative core of experienced and committed interpreter educators, practitioners, and leaders with input from a wide range of stakeholders. The stakeholders included students of interpreting, interpreter educators, D\/deaf and hard-of-hearing consumers, employers, policy makers, organizational leaders, and parents of deaf children. This webinar will focus on a discussion of these competencies, how they relate to the expectations of consumers and employers, and what they mean for the work of interpreter practitioners. Strategies for practitioners to use in assessing their current degree of mastery of the competencies will also be discussed.
\n\t
\n\tPresenters:<\/strong>
\n\tAnna Witter-Merithew, M.Ed., CSC, SC:L, OIC:C, SC:PA, CI, and CT, is the Director of the MARIE Center housed at UNC.
