Woodhaven Baptist Deaf Church in Houston,Texas has been presenting an
\nAnnual Deaf Christmas Drama for the deaf and hearing community for
\nover twenty years. This drama is presented in ASL along with voice
\nactors for the hearing. <\/p>\n
This year’s drama is very special because it is the life story of
\nMrs. Lillian Beard who started this ministry in 1924. Miss Lillian
\nwas adopted by deaf parents when she was only a few days old in Fort
\nWorth Texas. She started interpreting for her mother when she was
\ntwelve years old. Miss Lillian is now 99 years young and lives in
\nKingwood Texas. She plans to attend all five performances. We invite
\neveryone to attend in her honor as we celebrate the birth of Jesus
\nChrist. <\/p>\n
There is no charge for the performance, however we do take a love
\noffering at the door after the performances. We look forward to
\nseeing you and your friends at this unique deaf community event. Past
\nperformances have drawn crowds of over 1000 in attendance. <\/p>\n
