Come attend a free workshop on hearing loss Monday, December 10 from
\n10:30 am to 4:30 pm. at Freeman Branch Library in Clear Lake, 16616
\nDiana Lane, Houston, TX 77062 (Lunch will be on your own.) <\/p>\n
Topics covered include: Social and psychological effects of hearing
\nloss, distinctions among hard of hearing, late deafened, and
\nculturally deaf populations, communication techniques, coping
\nstrategies, latest assistive technologies, free specialized telephone
\nequipment, Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART), the
\nlatest on cochlear implants, DARS-DRS services and resources
\navailable. <\/p>\n
Up to 5 free ceu\u0019s have already been approved for audiologists,
\nspeech-language pathologists, hearing aid dispensers, sign language
\ninterpreters, social workers, and occupational therapists. This
\nworkshop is also appropriate for the general public, people with
\nhearing loss and their family or friends, and anyone with an interest
\nin hearing loss. <\/p>\n
