Professor Named &quot;Visionary&quot; by Alma Mater<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFebruary 18, 2014\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLITTLE ROCK, AR &#8211; An assistant professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) is being recognized this month for his great works in the deaf and hearing-impaired community.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDr. Glenn Anderson himself is deaf and teaches American Sign Language at UALR.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHe has been named one of 15 visionary leaders of the month by Gallaudet University* in Washington, DC as it celebrates its 150th anniversary. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallaudet.edu\/150\/celebrate\/visionary_leaders\/glenn_anderson.html\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to see his online tribute page.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe university applaud&#39;s Anderson&#39;s many achievements that include inspiring and preparing students for careers in diverse professional fields working with deaf people.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&quot;So for me when you look at 150 years being one of 15 persons chosen to reflect the 150 years that is just so awesome. Oh gosh, I&#39;m sure there are many, many more than just us 15,&quot; Anderson says.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnderson is the first African American alumnus of Gallaudet to earn a doctoral degree and the first African American deaf person to be appointed as chair of the Gallaudet Board of Trustees.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t*<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallaudet.edu\" target=\"_blank\">Gallaudet University<\/a> is the world leader in liberal education and career development for deaf and hard of hearing students.
