Description:<\/p>\n

Provide sign language interpreting services for students and Lee College personnel.<\/p>\n

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Provide sign language interpreting services to students and personnel working in conjunction with\u00a0other full and part-time interpreters. This may include classroom and\/or lab instruction, extra-curricular activities, tutoring, and meetings or events.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Work in cooperation with the Lee College Interpreter Mentoring Program.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assist, in conjunction with the Counselor for Students with Disabilities, with training\/support\u00a0services for faculty, staff, and students.<\/p>\n

Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Act as a liaison to Disability Services, students, and faculty.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assist with the development of a video tutorials\/language library for interpreters\/students and\u00a0maintain the resources.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assist with registration, testing, and note taking services for students with disabilities.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Perform general office duties for Disability Services.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

Excellent college benefits accrue with this full-time position. This is a security sensitive position.<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/p>\n

\u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Certification either through the State of Texas or the National Registry of Interpreters for the\u00a0Deaf<\/p>\n

o<\/span><\/span> Know and maintain the standard of ethics set by BEI of Texas\/RID<\/p>\n

o<\/span><\/span> Maintain current certification<\/p>\n

\u2022 One (1) to three (3) years of related educational interpreting<\/p>\n

\u2022 Must be willing to work flexible hours based on students\u2019 schedules and registration requirements<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ability to work nights<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ability to work as part of a team<\/p>\n

Salary:<\/p>\n

Starting salary range of $29,975 – $32,973 is based on the Lee College Classified Staff Salary Scale, B22.<\/p>\n

Initial salary is commensurate with education and related work experience.<\/p>\n
