OSD grads hit close to home<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pauls Valley Democrat<\/span><\/p>\n

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma \u2014 Students from Pauls Valley and Paoli will be among those graduating from the Oklahoma School for the Deaf this week.<\/p>\n

Trynecka<\/span> Olivia Sheffey of Pauls Valley and Nathan Christopher Coon of Paoli will both take part in the commencement ceremony set to begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 in the OSD gym at Sulphur<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The OSD 2014 graduating class also includes Rodolfo Apolinar Jr. of<\/span> Ardmore, Amber Marie Cooper of Lane, Erika Nicole Gillihan of Sulphur<\/span>, Ty Blake Jenkins of Sulphur<\/span>, Alex Christopher McCool of Choctaw, Nico Angelo McCormick of Moore, Melissa Susie<\/span> Pace of Sulphur<\/span>, Amy Lenn Pena of Altus, Morgan Renee Ponder of Tulsa, Haylee Tess Reynolds of Swink and Breanna Lynn Winfree of Guthrie.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been a great group of students,\u201d OSD Superintendent KaAnn<\/span> Varner said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to seeing what this group of graduates accomplish<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

OSD is a division of the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), a state agency which assists Oklahomans with disabilities through vocational rehabilitation, education, employment, independent living programs and the determination of medical eligibility for disability benefits.<\/p>\n

OSD has been located in Sulphur<\/span> since 1908.<\/p>\n

OSD provides residential and day school educational services at no charge for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.<\/p>\n

The school provides a range of outreach programs, including pre-school programs and onsite<\/span> consultation for public school students, their families, public school districts and communities statewide.<\/p>\n
