Advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. <\/p>\n<p>B. Planning and implementing a Disability Sensitivity and Etiquette<br \/>\ntraining program. <\/p>\n<p>C. Attend and participate in Public Forums, County and City council<br \/>\nmeetings. <\/p>\n<p>D. Conduct individual and systems advocacy. <\/p>\n<p>E. Establish and implement a network of organizations, agencies and<br \/>\ncommunity leaders. <\/p>\n<p>F. Conduct community and grassroots organizing. <\/p>\n<p>G. Document consumer case progress on data base. <\/p>\n<p>H. Educate the community about disability rights. <\/p>\n<p>I. Responsible to stay on top of legislation that concerns disability<br \/>\nissues and share information with Volar Staff. <\/p>\n<p>J. Assist other coordinators within the Volar CIL office in<br \/>\nconducting training for specific purposes. <\/p>\n<p>K Make periodic Volar CIL presentations in support of outreach<br \/>\nprogram. <\/p>\n<p>L. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. <\/p>\n<p>Qualifications: <\/p>\n<p>1. Bachelor\u0019s Degree in related field or at least three years of<br \/>\nsuccessful work experience with demonstrated advocacy experience. <\/p>\n<p>2. Excellent communication skills in both: oral and written. <\/p>\n<p>3. Understanding of the Independent Living Philosophy. <\/p>\n<p>4. Knowledgeable of community resources. <\/p>\n<p>5. Experience in working with people with disabilities. <\/p>\n<p>6. Experience with ADA, IDEA, Section 504, etc. <\/p>\n<p>7. Knowledgeable of personal computers (MS Office, Internet<br \/>\nCommunications, etc.) <\/p>\n<p>8.
