Your name was given to me by the City’s ADA
Coordinator Dolores Gonzales or Dr. Patti Singleton of ACC. I am
writing today to invite you and members of your association to attend
a community meeting that our office is having at St. Ignatius Catholic
Church at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 15. Sign-language interpreters
will be available.

For those that are not familiar with the Office of the Police
Monitor, it is a police oversight office where the public can file
complaints about the misconduct of Austin Police Department (APD)
officers. Except for Dallas and Houston, who are represented by
oversight committees, the Police Monitor is an office staffed with
personnel knowledgeable about law enforcement. It is one of more than
100 police oversight offices located throughout the United States. Our
services are for anyone that has experienced a difficult encounter
with an APD officer. While we know that officers are hardworking,
striving for the safety of its people, we also know that there are
those that approach their work differently. This is why we are taking
our message of oversight to every sector of the Austin community.

Attached are flyers (see below) announcing our meeting Tuesday. It
would be helpful if you could share this with others. Should you have
any questions, please let me now. My contact information is listed
below. I hope you’ll be able to attend this informative meeting.

Gracias,

Hermelinda Zamarripa

Community Liaison

Office of the Police Monitor

1520 Rutherford Lane, Bldg. 1, Suite 2.200A

Austin, TX 78754

512-974-9097

Fax: 512-974-6306

hermelinda.zamarripa@ci.austin.tx.us

Download Meeting Flyer – English Version: (pdf format)

Click to access Austin_Police_English_Flyer.pdf

Download Meeting Flyer – Spanish Version: (pdf format)

Click to access Austin_Police_Spanish_Flyer.pdf

—

BETTER IP RELAY – EVERYWHERE! i711.com makes all your relay calls better.
Better web calls.
