To Order Hearing Impaired Smoke Detectors<\/p>\n<p>By Melissa Schroeder<\/p>\n<p>BRYANT, AR &#8212; When your house catches fire<span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"d5216ce2-ddfb-4ffb-ae57-2eba257aecca\">&#8230;<\/span>typically it&#8217;s the smoke alarm that alerts you of the danger, but not everyone can hear the noise.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why the Bryant Fire Department will buy hearing impaired smoke detectors with the help of grant money.<\/p>\n<p>The special detectors flash a bright light and are much louder.<\/p>\n<p>The fire chief says with the grant money he&#8217;ll order seven of the safety devices next week.<\/p>\n<p>He also received a couple hundred regular smoke detectors.<\/p>\n<p>Chief JP Jordan said, &#8220;Smoke alarms by themselves<span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"c969184a-da4a-4833-9f45-c08b9722dd6d\">&#8230;<\/span>if you could do one thing for your family to increase your chances of coming out alive from a house fire, that&#8217;s the one thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Anyone living in the city of Bryant, can pick up a smoke detector at the Bryant Fire Department.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s on a first <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"dd11dabb-c899-4aa1-9c22-e619c66e3eea\">come first<\/span> serve basis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bryant Fire Dept.
