IPLA is a non-profit,<br \/>\nbipartisan institute that seeks to bring people who are deaf and<br \/>\nhard-of-hearing together with other people with disabilities in a<br \/>\ncomprehensive political leadership training program, which include<br \/>\nannual seminars and the Presidential election conferences. <\/p>\n<p>Lori is currently the Special Assistant to the Principal of the<br \/>\nMaryland School for the Deaf, and has considerable background<br \/>\nexpertise in civic involvement through her work with MDAD, and the<br \/>\nNational Association of the Deaf. She previously served for four<br \/>\nyears on the Deaf Women United Conference in Elliot City, Maryland,<br \/>\nand also served as co-chair on several civic committees. Lori is a<br \/>\n1981 graduate of Gallaudet University with a Bachelor of Arts in<br \/>\nSocial Work. She also holds a Masters degree in Education, which she<br \/>\nreceived from American University in 1984. IPLA believes that Ms.<br \/>\nBonheyo will be an invaluable asset to the IPLA Conference as its<br \/>\nChair given her background and broad expertise in outreach to the<br \/>\ndeaf community, and is pleased to support her in her new role. <\/p>\n<p>The Institute of Political Leadership and Access (IPLA) also would<br \/>\nlike to thank Hawk Relay for their continued corporate sponsorship of<br \/>\nthe IPLA mission.
