Institute of Political Leadership and Access & Lori Bonheyo <\/p>\n
The Institute of Political Leadership and Access (IPLA) is pleased to
\nannounce that Ms. Lori Bonheyo will be joining onboard as the 2008
\nChair of the IPLA Conference, which will be held during the
\nPresidential Election, September 10-13, 2008, at the Kellogg Center
\nat Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. IPLA is a non-profit,
\nbipartisan institute that seeks to bring people who are deaf and
\nhard-of-hearing together with other people with disabilities in a
\ncomprehensive political leadership training program, which include
\nannual seminars and the Presidential election conferences. <\/p>\n
Lori is currently the Special Assistant to the Principal of the
\nMaryland School for the Deaf, and has considerable background
\nexpertise in civic involvement through her work with MDAD, and the
\nNational Association of the Deaf. She previously served for four
\nyears on the Deaf Women United Conference in Elliot City, Maryland,
\nand also served as co-chair on several civic committees. Lori is a
\n1981 graduate of Gallaudet University with a Bachelor of Arts in
\nSocial Work. She also holds a Masters degree in Education, which she
\nreceived from American University in 1984. IPLA believes that Ms.
\nBonheyo will be an invaluable asset to the IPLA Conference as its
\nChair given her background and broad expertise in outreach to the
\ndeaf community, and is pleased to support her in her new role. <\/p>\n
