{"id":28205,"date":"2014-08-06T13:49:39","date_gmt":"2014-08-06T18:49:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=28205"},"modified":"2014-08-06T15:09:15","modified_gmt":"2014-08-06T20:09:15","slug":"state-of-texas-tax-free-weekend-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2014\/08\/06\/state-of-texas-tax-free-weekend-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"State of Texas: Tax Free Weekend 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sales Tax Holiday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>August 8 &#8211; 10, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Sales Tax Holiday is August 8 &#8211; 10, 2014<span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"e43d10ec-0e8b-44b8-9e06-ac26333aa77f\"> .<\/span> As in previous years, the law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 from sales and use taxes, which could save shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.<\/p>\n<p>Subject to the criteria explained below, all sales of qualifying items made during the holiday <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"be9595c4-cddb-4ef9-8d95-35482cd881c1\"><span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"07f0e308-1406-4507-bd3a-1e61f2460c10\">period qualify for the<\/span><\/span> exemption, including items sold online, or by telephone or mail. Lay-away plans can be used again this year to take advantage of the sales tax holiday.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">List of Qualifying Clothing, Footwear and Other Items Sold During the August Sales Tax Holiday<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The exempt items on this list must be priced under $100.
