\n“Consecutive Interpreting Skills Development”
\nThis workshop looks at the process of consecutive interpreting with a\u00a0focus on working memory and target language reformulation.\u00a0Participants will be introduced to the theoretical applications\u00a0of consecutive interpreting and have hands on activities surrounding\u00a0short and long consecutive interpreting practice. Some\u00a0discussion of note taking in consecutive will be discussed. This\u00a0workshop will be conducted in spoken English.

\n“Creative a More Visual Interpretation”
\nThis workshop looks at how interpreters can create a more\u00a0visual versus a linear interpretation in their English to ASL interpreting.\u00a0We will look at specific linguistic features associated with use of\u00a0space: characterization, SASSs, classifiers, verb modulation, etc.\u00a0Participants will work with visual materials and written\/spoken\u00a0English texts in groups. Due to the nature of the topic, the presentation\u00a0will be conducted in both ASL and English.
