\n“Consecutive Interpreting Skills Development”
\nThis workshop looks at the process of consecutive interpreting with a
\nfocus on working memory and target language reformulation.
\nParticipants will be introduced to the theoretical applications
\nof consecutive interpreting and have hands on activities surrounding
\nshort and long consecutive interpreting practice. Some
\ndiscussion of note taking in consecutive will be discussed. This
\nworkshop will be conducted in spoken English.

\n“Creative a More Visual Interpretation”
\nThis workshop looks at how interpreters can create a more
\nvisual versus linear interpretation in their English to ASL interpreting.
\nWe will look at specific linguistic features associated with use of
\nspace: characterization, SASSs, classifiers, verb modulation, etc.
\nParticipants will work with visual materials and written\/spoken
\nEnglish texts in groups. Due to the nature of the topic, the presentation
\nwill be conducted in both ASL and English.
