Texas Parent to Parent is a non-profit, parent-run organization that

\nvariety of special needs. Parent to Parent is expanding their program
\nto include families with children with a hearing loss. We need your
\nhelp! <\/p>\n
Do you have time to make a few phone calls or send a few emails to
\nhelp answer another parent\u0019s questions? <\/p>\n
Are you willing to share your experiences with communication choices,
\naccessing educational services\/resources and issues related to
\ndeafness? <\/p>\n

The Texas Parent to Parent Supporting Parent Volunteer training
\nprepares you to provide information and emotional support to another
\nparent new to the diagnosis of hearing loss for their child. <\/p>\n
We will discuss: <\/p>\n
The stages of grief that most parents experience <\/p>\n
Listening and communication skills <\/p>\n
Local, state and national resources care for the caregiver <\/p>\n
You will also learn what TxP2P expects of their volunteers. <\/p>\n
Then you will tell us how you want to help. We have a lot of parents
\nthat have requested a Supporting Parent match and need more trained
\nvolunteers. <\/p>\n
We hope you can join us on the 16th <\/p>\n
If you can, please answer the following questions: <\/p>\n
Do you need childcare? If so, how many kids will you bring? Please
\ntell us their names, ages, and any special accommodations we need to
\nlet the child care workers know about. <\/p>\n
Please let us know if you have any time restraints or dietary needs. <\/p>\n
After we hear from those of you who can attend, we will send out
\ninformation and directions. <\/p>\n
