REV. DOUGLAS CHILDERS, MA, was born Deaf. \u201cI accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior when I was a senior at the California School for the Deaf. I started teaching a Christian Fellowship Bible Study while I was a student at the National Technical School for the Deaf (NTID) in New York. I was also involved in the \u201cTenth Coin\u201d Evangelical Team for 2 years. I became an assistant pastor at a Deaf church in Portland, Maine. Then I was \u201cacting pastor\u201d there for one year.<\/p>\n

I moved to Massachusetts and was a pastor there for about 11 years. Also in the past, I served as an adjunct faculty instructor at Northpoint (Zion) Bible College in Massachusetts for 5 years. Now I work as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor\/Rehabilitation Counselor for Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing, and also lead a Deaf Bible Study. My greatest blessings are my wife and family.\u201d<\/p>\n

After church, we will go out to eat at a local restaurant \u2013 pay on your own.<\/p>\n
