NCTID Spring Mentoring Workshop Series<\/strong>– open to all<\/p>\n

The Approaches to Mentoring- January 24, 2015 9-12p with Deb Martinez<\/strong><\/p>\n

This workshop will look at mentoring theory and practice. Mentors and mentees will gain a better understanding of how to build a relationship, establish mentoring goals, and develop skills and techniques for mentoring. This workshop is geared towards the NCTID Mentoring Series participants, however it is open to all individuals who are interested in knowing more about mentoring in the field of sign language interpreting. Presented in English.<\/p>\n

Skills Development English to ASL- February 28, 2015 9-12p with Cris Nunn<\/strong><\/p>\n

This workshop will look at the skills and competencies necessary to interpret from English to ASL. Participants will be given materials and opportunities to practice what they have learned in a safe and supportive environment. Fluency in ASL and English required.<\/p>\n

This workshop will look at the skills and competencies necessary to interpret from ASL to English.<\/p>\n

Ethical Decisions in Interpreting- April 25, 2015 9-12p with Heather Hughes<\/strong><\/p>\n

This workshop will look at the decisions interpreters make that impact deaf individual, their teams, and the community at large. Case scenarios will be presented within the large group and small groups.<\/p>\n

Application of the Code of Conduct will be considered with each scenario. Presented in ASL.<\/p>\n
