Critical Thinking Skills for Interpreters<\/p>\n

Working in the Video Venue<\/p>\n

Taught by Rico Peterson this workshop will cover both historical and
\npractical aspects of moral philosophy and decision making with a
\nstrong focus on work in video relay interpreting. The workshop
\nculminates with the introduction and application of Think-Aloud
\nProtocols as a tool for critical thinking both collaboratively and on
\nan individual basis. Participants will:<\/p>\n

” Demonstrate, by participation in a Think-Aloud Protocol activity,
\nthe ability to synthesize theoretical knowledge with practical
\nability in decision-making and ethical reasoning in video relay
\ninterpreting <\/p>\n

” Be familiarized with the current issues in video interpreting <\/p>\n

” Inquire into the current state of their ability and develop
\nstrategies for improving their skills <\/p>\n

Cost: Interpreters: $20.00, Students: $10.00, Sorenson VRS
\nInterpreters: Free <\/p>\n
