The major responsibilities of this position includes working directly<br \/>\nwith individuals who are disabled and seeking assistance in finding competitive<br \/>\nemployment. Our clients are referrals from state and federal programs;<br \/>\ncoordinating with Vocational Rehabilitations Counselors to establish and plan<br \/>\nservices is a major responsibility of the position. An Employment Specialist<br \/>\nshould be a dynamic individual who has both the business acumen to develop<br \/>\nbusiness relationships with local employers and the desire to assist individuals<br \/>\nwith disabilities in overcoming barriers to employment. You will be a resource<br \/>\nof information for job seekers by maintaining updated knowledge of the local job<br \/>\nmarket, possess the unique ability to create professional resumes, assist with<br \/>\napplications, and provide interview preparation and assistance for your clients.<br \/>\nAdditional responsibilities include professional writing ability, computer<br \/>\nproficiency, as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing<br \/>\nschedules to meet the needs of your client base. A typical client caseload is<br \/>\nabout 15 to 30 clients and you will be expected to work in-office, make home and<br \/>\nemployer visits, conduct phone or videophone appointments and transport your<br \/>\nclients, if necessary, to job interviews, job fairs, etc. As this position is<br \/>\nneeded specifically to work with our Deaf and Hard of Hearing caseload, fluent<br \/>\nAmerican Sign Language skills are required; evaluation of ASL skill level is a<br \/>\nprerequisite to employment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nA Bachelor&#8217;s Degree preferably in Rehabilitation, Education or Business related<br \/>\narea as well as experience working with individuals with disabilities,<br \/>\nspecifically with Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients.<br \/>\nTraining and certification are requirements of the position and are provided via<br \/>\nonline courses and on-the job training provided by the Employer. A valid Texas<br \/>\nDriver license is required for this position as well as current insurance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compensation<\/strong><br \/>\nThis position provides a competitive salary based on experience plus bonuses,<br \/>\nMedical, Dental and Life benefits, paid training, and mileage reimbursement. The<br \/>\nhours are typically Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. although flexibility<br \/>\nis required to meet the needs of the client.<br \/>\n<strong>Job Coach<\/strong><br \/>\nWe are also seeking a part-time job coach, who will work directly with clients<br \/>\nin their workplace, providing assistance with learning job duties, completing<br \/>\nemployment training and facilitating communication with employers. You are also<br \/>\nrequired to complete professional job coaching logs documenting your<br \/>\ninteractions with clients. This position requires a Texas Driver license,<br \/>\ninsurance, a high school diploma and at least one year of experience providing<br \/>\ndirect assistance to individuals with disabilities. This position pays $11.00<br \/>\nhourly, provides mileage reimbursement, and paid training. The work hours change<br \/>\ndepending on the client you will be working with and a flexible schedule is<br \/>\nneeded. There is a need for job coaches who are able to communicate in English,<br \/>\nSpanish and\/or ASL.<br \/>\n<strong>Vocational Adjustment Trainer \/ Job Readiness Instructor<\/strong><br \/>\nWe are seeking a part-time (32 hours) Instructor\/Trainer to instruct both the<br \/>\nVocational Adjustment and Job Readiness courses. The Vocational Adjustment<br \/>\ncourse is a unique and comprehensive class that assists job seekers in preparing<br \/>\nfor the workplace and the expectations of employers. The instructor will work<br \/>\nindividually or in a group setting providing training in subjects such as:<br \/>\nappropriate workplace behavior, workplace conflict resolution, employer<br \/>\nexpectations, positive work values and ethics, grooming and hygiene<br \/>\nexpectations, ADA rights and disclosing disability, requesting accommodations<br \/>\nand communications skills. The Job Readiness course is specifically designed for<br \/>\nour visually impaired and Blind case load and provides comprehensive preparation<br \/>\nfor the job seeking process. Subjects in this course include: interview<br \/>\npreparation and practice, resume development, job application training,<br \/>\ndiscussing disability in the interview and job retention skills.<br \/>\nThese courses run from one to two weeks and the instructor is required to<br \/>\ncomplete a thorough report summarizing the client&#8217;s progress and needs. The<br \/>\ncurriculum and training is provided. Office hours are 8:30 to 2:30, Monday thru<br \/>\nFriday. Competitive hourly pay plus bonuses, and mileage reimbursement.<br \/>\nThis position requires a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree, preferably in rehabilitation or<br \/>\neducation, experience instructing similar curriculum and working with<br \/>\nindividuals with disabilities.
