Special open captioned movie presentation on March 1st by the Waco
\nMayor\u0019s Committee on People with Disabilities features Mark Gobble, a
\nTexas School for the Deaf middle school teacher: see his profile at

This is the only showing there will be in Central Texas. (See more

The Waco Mayor\u0019s Committee for People with Disabilities and Recycle
\nMankind are hosting a new and unique event that will inspire everyone
\nat 7:00 PM on March 1st at the Waco Hippodrome \u0013 the presentation of
\n\u001cTeam Everest: A Himalayan Journey.\u001d Tickets are only $10.00 and
\ninclude Q&A time after the film in which audience members will be
\nable to ask questions of members of the team and the filmmaker, Andy
\nCockrum, followed by a reception. Tickets can be purchased at
\nhttp:\/\/www.wacoperformingarts.org\/
\n. The Waco Mayor\u0019s Committee for People with Disabilities and Recycle
\nMankind in Partnership with Firelight Pictures and Danger Dog Films
\nProduction are sponsoring the event to raise awareness for positive
\nawareness about people with disabilities in our community.
\nAdditionally, we have free movie posters for anyone who would like to
\nplace one in their office or lobby. <\/p>\n

We are bringing to Waco a story that dares us to reach beyond our
\nlimitations and follow our dreams. An Official Selection of the
\nSeattle International Film Festival, the Boston Film Festival and
\nAustin Film Festival, \u001cTeam Everest: A Himalayan Journey\u001d is a
\ndocumentary that chronicles a remarkable group of trekkers on a 2003
\nexpedition to the world’s highest mountain. Five men in wheelchairs
\nand their teammates representing a range of disabilities, including a
\nTexas School for the Deaf middle school teacher who is deaf and a Waco
\nAttorney with paraplegia, trek 21 days through the high Himalaya.
\nSuccessful in their quest, Team Everest \u001903 became the largest group
\nof people with disabilities ever to reach Mount Everest Base Camp
\nduring the fiftieth anniversary month of the first summit of Mt.
\nEverest by Sir Edmund Hillary. <\/p>\n
