A Message from the DAD President Cathy Edler-Ashley <\/p>\n
Hello Members and Friends of DAD: <\/p>\n
Happy Leap Day! For those who were born on the 29th of February I
\nhope that you have a real special birthday treat. <\/p>\n
I need to share with you that DAD is closed Feb. 29 and Mar. 1, due
\nto many of the DAD members attending the Deaf Nation Expo in Austin.
\nPlease spread the words among your friends regarding DAD being closed
\nthis weekend. And if you attend the Deaf Nation Expo please do drive
\nsafely there and back home. <\/p>\n
Since we were not able to find anyone to run the DAD kitchen this
\nyear, I am excited to have the DAD committees and a few non-DAD Deaf
\norganizations willing to do food fundraising during the first and
\nthird Saturdays each month. I am looking forward to seeing some new
\nfaces coming in. Please do check our Kitchen Menu periodically, to
\nfind out what food will be sold and by whom:<\/p>\n

It is only a little over three weeks ago when Super Bowl was shown.
\nMany of us, including myself, missed the Deaf Pepsi-Co commercial
\nwhich I learned was broadcasted sometime a bit after 4:00pm. I am
\nglad we are able to view the Deaf Pepsi-Co commercial via You Tube
\nwebsite. <\/p>\n
Several people in attendance came to listen Social Security Adm #2
\nPresentation related Medicare. Many had learned new things which will
\nhelp their upcoming retirement. <\/p>\n
Our DAD Scrapbook Retreat #2 expanded to 14 participates. We had a
\nwonderful time stampin’ and croppin’ our scrapbooks and\/or cards all
\nday and night without interruptions. It was an awesome opportunity
\nfor some of us to learn new tips and tricks! Many asked me when we
\nwill have another Scrapbook Retreat, I am tentatively looking at the
\nend of May. <\/p>\n
Wednesday night, Ken Brown who is with the Sprint Relay Store
\nWireless, gave us a wonderful workshop. We are able to become more
\ncomfortable with our blackberry pagers and also understand better how
\nour blackberry pager works. <\/p>\n

March 8, Saturday – TX Hold’em – 4:00pm (food will be sold by the DAD
\nParliamentary Procedure committee) <\/p>\n

March 15, Saturday – DBDA meeting\/workshop – 3:00pm – CINGO – 8:00pm <\/p>\n
March 21, Friday – New Senior Citizen Gathering – 7:30pm <\/p>\n
March 22, Saturday – Ladies Poker Nite – 7: 00pm <\/p>\n
