Provides intake, crisis intervention, individual, crisis intervention, individual, group and family and counseling. Provides outreach and training activities within the Deaf community about SafePlace and domestic and sexual violence. Coordinates and provides training on topics related to healthy relationships and domestic\/sexual violence within the Deaf community and training on Deaf culture\/sensitivity to hearing professionals. Assists in managing social media activities and with developing videos to engage the Deaf community. Builds relationships\/partnerships within the local Deaf community and plans public awareness events related to domestic\/sexual violence. Staffs booths at local Deaf events to promote information about SafePlace.\u00a0 This position is expected to work collaboratively with the Deaf Services team, the Counseling Services team, and other hearing staff to achieve program goals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong> Life experience and extensive knowledge of Deaf culture. Knowledge of human development, family systems and appropriate therapy modalities for sexual and domestic violence survivors required.\u00a0 Strong relationships within the local Deaf community and leadership skills in gaining Deaf community trust and confidence. Experience in planning and conducting trainings\/presentations.\u00a0 Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage details and multiple priorities effectively. Master\u2019s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field required. May include working 1 evening per week for counseling responsibilities; some weekend and evening work required for education responsibilities. Nonresidential counseling setting. Reliable transportation necessary. Creativity a must.\u00a0 Must be fluent in American Sign Language.
