Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities that support the programs and services provided by Student Disability Services. Work schedule may vary to accommodate day and evening courses for deaf and hard of hearing students. Work is performed under direction and performance is evaluated on accomplishment of assigned tasks, professionalism, attendance, punctuality, communication, flexibility, advancement of skills and education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Major\/Essential Functions:<\/strong>\u00a0 Ensure Deaf and hard of hearing students are provided equal access to communication in the classroom, on campus, or other events as assigned.\u00a0 Provide assistance by interpreting for Student Disability Services and\/or Division of Student Affairs when programs are coordinated, meetings are conducted, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong> Applicant must hold a Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) Certification level of Basic \/ Level I , Level II, Level III and Advanced, or Level IV, Level V and Master.\u00a0 National certifications will be considered along with the ability to successfully receive state certification within 1 \u00bd of hire date.\u00a0 The applicant must have the ability to use linguistic knowledge to interpret\/transliterate effectively, accurately, and impartially at high registers, both receptively and expressively.
