SEEDS seeks an enthusiastic, energetic and creative individual with fluency in American Sign Language. The successful candidate:<\/div>\n
1. Must be able to communicate in American Sign Language and English<\/div>\n
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in teaching children with diverse abilities<\/div>\n
3. Skilled in developing lesson plans and documentation of specific student\u2019s needs, parent\u2019s goals, and school requirements<\/div>\n
4. Able to develop and use a variety of teaching strategies to meet student needs<\/div>\n
5. Highly motivated to see and assist each student towards success<\/div>\n
6. Cooperative and able to work with a team of co-workers<\/div>\n
7. Flexible and willing to make adjustments as needed<\/div>\n
8. Able to take direction and instruction from supervisor<\/div>\n
9. Ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff. Primary Purpose Provide students who are deaf\/hard of hearing in a language-rich environment designed to build an individual intact language support system. Create activities for developing skills as established through parent and school communication. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials according to ability levels and learning styles. Work as a team player with a dedicated passion to serving and educating exceptional deaf\/hard of hearing students.<\/div>\n

QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong> Education\/Certification BA\/BS in Deaf Education or a related field preferred Demonstrated evidence of qualifying training and experience<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Special Knowledge\/Skills<\/strong>
\n\u2022 An earned degree and\/or qualifying training\/experience in education or a related field.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of Deaf culture and extensive personal and professional experiences within the Deaf community.
\n\u2022 Able to exhibit depth of theoretical knowledge and EC-6 application of ASL\/English bilingual philosophy and other evidence based best practices in Deaf Education.
\n\u2022 Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of bilingual learners.
\n\u2022 Demonstrated teaching skills and abilities.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of language development in students with special needs
\n\u2022 Sign language usage for instructional purposes required to achieve the student and parent interaction
\n\u2022 Knowledge and comprehension of working with various special needs
\n\u2022 General knowledge of curriculum and instruction practices
\n\u2022 Ability to supervise and participate with physical activities such as swimming, sports, exercises, etc. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
\n\u2022 Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff
\n\u2022 Implement an instructional development program for assigned students and demonstrate written evidence of preparation as required
\n\u2022 Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned
\n\u2022 Employ a variety of instructional techniques and technology use to meet the needs and capabilities of each student assigned
\n\u2022 Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal assessments
\n\u2022 Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development students
\n\u2022 Manage student behavior and develop behavioral plan when necessary in a safe manner
\n\u2022 Remain compliant of regulations and policies and participate in trainings
\n\u2022 Record, maintain, and properly file all reports, records, and other required confidential documents in timely manner
\n\u2022 Perform all other related duties as assigned in a timely manner WORKING CONDITIONS Mental Demands\/Physical Demands\/Environmental Factors:
